How it works

1. Site Identification

3. Planning Permission Application

1. Site Identification

Following site identification, we assesses the suitability of the land for a solar farm installation, including an initial planning assessment and a grid network capacity evaluation.

2. Option Agreement

3. Planning Permission Application

1. Site Identification

On suitable sites, a Lease Option Agreement contract is agreed with the landowners.  The standard option agreements are for 5 years with an option for a  35 year lease period. The landowner receives a sign-up fee.

4. Planning Permission Approval & Grid Connection Offer

Green Quest Renewables then commences the planning process and lodges a planning application for the site. We also carries out any necessary heritage, flora & fauna, environmental, glint & glare or visual impact reports required for the site in order to mitigate as many planning issues as possible before the application is lodged. In addition, we work closely with local communities to ensure full transparency with our projects.

The nextstage of the process is to secure a route to market by way of the RESS process or a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) with a large energy user.

The 35 year lease option is taken up, and the landowner is paid their first of many rent instalments they will receive over the operational life of the solar farm.
